If I Must Die, You Must Live

If you hear my Talk,
You may feel my Pain.
Gone are the days of Serenity—
Guns are the Words of humanity—

Israel’s birds of death hover
Only meters from our Breath—
On the shores of the Mediterranean, we see
Humanity drenched in Salt: Face Down, Dead.
Being a good parent in Gaza means developing
A knack for what Israel’s drones & F-16’s will do next …

We want our Children to draw not warships, pillars of smoke,
Warplanes, and guns—but Blue Skies with a Sun in the corner.
The toughest thing I have at home is an Expo Marker—
But if the Israelis invade, I’ll throw it at the soldiers!

We Live to tell
The tales of Loss,
Of Survival, of Hope—
If I must Die let it bring
Hope—let it be a Tale.
